Of Life and Living

Every time I think of what I want to do after January, I hit a a wall of possibilities. I have no idea what I want to do, because I have at least five choices lined up. I just can't decide on what to go for, and what I really want to do.

I've narrowed it down to something to do with art, photography, and it has to be intellectual. My mom keeps saying I'd probably love archaeology, and I'm sure I'd agree, but I don't know if I could commit myself to travelling great distances. Then again, I have always been interested in learning as many languages as I could, so maybe I should just suck it up and would enjoy it.

I've considered graphic art programs, creative writing classes, photography classes, acting classes. But I've looked at Biology, and considered becoming a vet or a doctor. It's not out of my grasp, I just have to get over my queasiness around blood. XD It's not a great thing to have when you're working with things that bleed.

Then I've also considered just settling down somewhere and opening a bookstore, or working at a library. I suppose I could do that as well as continue my interest in the arts, but it'd be a lot of work.

It's hard to choose, but I know I have been blessed to be able to travel as much as I have in my life. I am fascinated by the landscapes around me, and as much as I miss seeing the mountains or trees, the prairies have started to grow on me as well. To look around you and see nothing but grass and fields for miles is just amazing. The large stretch of just flat ground is just as thrilling as being in the mountains. I suppose the last places I want to see for myself are the far north, and the far east of Canada. I have not yet been to the Maritimes, but I'm planning on at least visiting them once in my life. I've even considered going to school in PEI or Nova Scotia.

I guess it's nature in general that fascinates me, and I'm beginning to wonder how I can get a job that would let me travel and see all that I can see. Then maybe I could settle down and own that bookstore.
